Generally, UPS has a large footprint and requires an extra installation space outside computer. In contrast, Nipron nonstop power supply combines the built-in type power supply with the uninterruptible power supply capability. The nonstop power supply provides better solution to the power supply security problems by a compact unit which can be installed in a computer. Furthermore, with the unique 2-gate 2-engine architecture, the Nipron nonstop power supply can be operated from both AC and DC inputs simultaneously, ensuring better DC output voltage stability against primary AC input voltage anomaly. |

Basic UPS configuration
AC source power is converted into UPS output power and then converted into the DC output of the power supply inside computer. The double power conversion produces a large power loss, resulting in a low power efficiency in typical of 50% to 60% range. External UPS and the built-in power supply of computer are connected in series. If either of them fails, the system totally fails at all. The incidence of power failure becomes sum of the failure rates of UPS and built-in power supply. |

NSP configuration
Since the Nonstop power supply performs the power conversion only once, an excellent power efficiency as high as 70% is achieved. Additionally, the nonstop power supply has
obvious advantage in reliability. Compared to the UPS, the nonstop power
supply has 2 engines (AC input and DC input engines), which are
operated in parallel. If either engine fails, the other engine keeps
working to sustain the output. The dual engine architecture ensures the
high reliability of power supply required for computer systems,
telecommunication and FA
applications. |

The Nipron nonstop power supply has many
features as illustrated below. The nonstop power supply directly outputs
the DC operating power required for computer motherboard and peripherals. Like the
standard AT/ATX power supply, the nonstop power supply can be installed
in computer mainframe and other system components. The dual engine
architecture provides uninterruptible power supply capability with excellent
power conversion efficiency, output voltage stability and high
reliability. These features contribute to saving power consumption and
reducing TOC (Total Cost of Ownership) of the power supply security
enhancement system. |
